WHOLE FOODS (Foods from Nature) Whole foods grow on trees or from the ground.
Ask Yourself “Was this food ALIVE?” Think of this as FUEL for your body.NO PROCESSED FOOD (Foods from Man) They contain additives, preservatives, artificial flavors/sweeteners/colors (all added chemicals). Think of this as POISON for your body.ORGANIC Organic is free of pesticides/herbicides (look for the green/white USDA organic label). Organic fruits/veggies contain 40% more antioxidants than their conventional counterparts. Choose Organic when possible, refer to the Dirty Dozen/Clean 15 list below.
Non-GMO GMO stands for Genetically Modified Organism. These are crops that have been developed through genetic engineering, also considered plant breeding. This is often done to create plants that are more desirable. For example, a GMO plant may be more resistant to drought or pest resistant. The 10 genetically modified crops available today include: alfalfa, apples, canola, corn, cotton, papaya, potatoes, soybeans, squash, and sugar beets.FREE- RANGE, CAGE FREE & GRASS FED meats/eggs “Free Range” applies to poultry and means your chicken/turkey was allowed to roam as it was intended in open space (not confined). Look for “cage-free” eggs as this means your egg-laying hen was also free-range and vegetarian fed. “Grass fed & finished” applies to your beef. This ensures your cattle was fed as it was also intended- allowed to roam freely and eat on the pasture. Most US cattle are fed GMO CORN diet to fatten them up and you are getting high fat, high chemical, low nutrients as a result. We recommend that you print this list out, place it on the fridge, keep it in your purse, or save to your phone for quick access until it becomes second nature. I know, I know…there are the things we LOVE and crave on this list! But remember – this isn’t FOREVER – this is 30 Days…and you can do ANYTHING for 30 days. That’s a FACT! So shift your focus to all the delicious things you CAN have! And more than anything we want you to give you body a chance to pause, reset, and allow you to gain an awareness around how some of these ALLERGENIC, ADDICTIVE, OR ACIDIC foods might be affecting you. What does this mean?
*ALLERGENIC – Many of the common foods we eat have the most negative effect on our bodies as we may be sensitive or even allergic to them. Continuing to consume these foods over time can lead to inflammation in the body which leads to many health issues. So let’s take a short pause from these foods to be able to determine which ones may be impacting us in a negative way.
*ADDICTIVE – food addiction is a real thing! And most of the foods we crave are the ones we are most addicted to. Replacing these foods with more nourishing foods that serve us will help break these negative addictions and get us craving healthy foods that fuel and heal our bodies!
*ACIDIC – All food is either alkaline or acidic forming. If you body is more acidic, you are more prone to disease, illness, bacteria and viruses.

Why do we need to Increase Nutrient intake?
Due to the overabundance of pre-packaged and fast food, many people today are overweight yet malnourished. They carry toxic fat while their bodies are starving for real nutrition. Key Component #5: Supporting Elimination OrgansSo why detoxify?
If you think of your body like a bathtub – the drain is the organs of elimination (liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, and the G.I./liver) and the faucet is everything you add to the body (water, food, air, thoughts, products, etc!). As the faucet runs the body has to sort through everything; hanging on to what it needs and letting go of what it doesn’t. However, in today’s world, with the increased toxicity load people are taking in, (combined with the fact that the majority of humans are not supporting these organs on a daily basis to assure they function at their best,) we end up “clogging the drain”/elimination organs. And when this happens the toxicity in our bodies builds up and we begin experiencing symptoms – headaches, skin problems, PMS, weight gain, thinning of the nails, osteoporosis, back pain, joint pain, hormone imbalance, hypothyroidism, etc, etc.
And if we keep doing what we’re doing we keep getting what we’re getting so toxicity keeps building up, our organs can’t sort through it fast enough, so the body has to do something with it. And where does the body not want to put toxicity? In the vital organs! (They’re called “vital” for a reason – the brain, heart, etc) So the body, in an effort to find a place to put these toxins, creates and stores them in fat cells – which are like bubble wrap for toxins. So then the toxins and fat cells keep building up, wreaking havoc on all systems, triggering chronic inflammation, and eventually reaching vital organs which most likely ends up with some sort of diagnosis.
And when we do “diets” to simply “lose fat” – cutting calories, excessive exercising, etc – we may lose the fat but what happens is the toxins that were inside the fat cells remain which trigger the body to create more fat to store them in – and therefore we gain the weight back! That’s why “diets” don’t work!
So what do we do? - Eat at regular intervals, about every 4 hrs, including 3 meals (your two shakes ARE meals remember) 1-3 snacks daily (if wanting to lose weight 2 snacks max)
